Louis Barba, 65, is stoned and stabbed to death on Columbia Point.

Barba is killed by a group of African-American youths behind the Bayside Mall on Columbia Point. The retired contractor, who lived at 339 Norfolk Avenue, had been fishing at the site. He is the third white person attacked in the area within a few hours that day.
